WILNO CHICKEN SUPPER

The most famous one is the annual Wilno Chicken Supper. This supper has been going since 1936. It was created as a fundraiser just after the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church burnt down. It started in the Church basement of the newly built St. Mary’s Church. The supper takes place on the Labour Day Weekend the first Sunday in September. It is the day where all the parishioners put time for the church and raised money for the church, meanwhile providing a great meal to the public. The meal consists of tradition boiled chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, fresh vegetables, such as carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, pickles, and of course choices of apple, raisin, and coconut cream pies. This 91 year tradition is still going strong and folks around the valley can’t wait to enjoy and experience the best church supper in the Valley.

The supper feeds approx. 2000 people throughout the day. Live music by local musicians is provided outside while the folks are in line waiting to get the taste of this find Slavic cuisine. You can also play games like the crown and anchor.
